But when the kids can create something that they can then actually play with as well, I'm so excited to make that happen. The more fun craft ideas that I can gather up for the kids, the more excited and confident that they're going to get about crafting.
And I think that a paper hand puppet is one of the best crafts for kids to start. This will teach them to follow directions and then actually be able to use the craft for their imagination, too. For as long as I can remember, I've been a fan of puppets. Paper puppets are fun to make but even puppets in magic shows and things like that have always caught my attention and made me smile.
One of the biggest reasons that puppet play is beneficial is that it really does work the imagination of the child. I love seeing the plays that they'll put on and the conversations that they'll have with the puppets and just literally enjoy seeing their confidence soar.
Kids really do say the darndest things and when they have a puppet speaking for them, hilarious things will happen! Let the kids have fun making these paper puppets and see what they'll think up next.
They just might put on quite a show for you with their new paper hand puppet! This is how memories are made and how family bonding time can easily happen in a snap.
Begin by printing the paper bag ballerina template. Cut out the pieces. Trace the bun and bangs on the hair color cardstock of choice, and do the same for the top and tutu. These make the most fun paper puppets. We love the idea of keeping all our paper bag puppets together in one container so that they stay together as long as possible.
